Made It !

Well I am currently sitting in the new house in Wanaka I got up at 6.45am this morning and i have to say I am really tired but the beds are up and the duvets are on etc so just cleaning and doing a little unpacking. Finally found a phone point to connect to the internet so....I have just been catching up on all the blogs I like to read! Hopefully go for a drive around later and check out my new area!

Sweep is all curled up on the bed - see photo below - at 13 now he doesn't enjoy moving and since he is pretty blind - bumps into all the boxes poor wee bugger!!

I need to get some bed linen soon and I was having a looksie at PB yesterday for some inspiration and ideas and I have to say I really like this one.

Moving House and New Blogs

Well packing up for the big move on Saturday...well not that big its only an hour away but still!

Well we have updated the blog to that new Layout format and I have to say it is much easier. I have started reading The Seven Spot and A Not so Desperate Housewife and enjoying them lots and I have also added a few new links on the Links page including one everyone should check out Sugar Baby Cosmetics I am in love with their clear lipgloss its yummy! And as we all know that is the most important quality of a lipgloss...



Congrats are in order to Chloe over at English Tea who has opened her new store...good luck to her, her cards are lovely, especially loving the Chai ones!

Oh the Lilly Resort collection has been out for a while but I only just saw this lovely pink shirt!



Oh well back to packing looking forward to posting about Wanaka in a few days in the meantime this is a picture taken of Lake Wanaka I can't wait!!!!

Busy Bee!

Well very little posts recently... I got into Univeristy and the Halls of Residence I wanted so thats exciting...I start at the end of Feb 2007 so the big countdown starts haha!

In the meantime I am moving up to Wanaka the coming weekend so I have been packing up here this weekend getting everything ready and boxed.

Wanaka is only an hour up the road but I am looking forward to it. Its beautiful up there and with summer starting I am looking forward to the next four months before going back to Christchurch to Uni !

So I have started a box of things I am beginning to buy for University or have been given most of which I have to say are pink and green I also have had some lovely ideas from the Monogram Momma on how to prep up my dorm room....any one else with ideas is welcome either to leave some comments or e-mail me at strawberryblog@hotmail.com with their ideas or even photos!!!!

In the meantime this is some of what I have collected so far.... I have also got some pink and green folders, a BARBIE! mug, a towel bale, lots of tote bags for carting stuff around in, laundry basket and a few other bits and peices. Pictured below is a homemade Semester Planner, collection of plastic plates etc, a pink and green clock and my favourite thing so far a collection of pink tuppewear!!!

Cinnamon Tea Cake

Well I made a Cinnamon Tea Cake today - it was the first time I tried this so it was a bit of an experiment! But it turned out very nice and the sponge was very light! I will be trying it again.

1 egg

60g butter

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

1 cup of self-rasing flour

1/3 cup of milk

1/2 cup of castor sugar

1 tablespoon of cinnamon

15-20g butter (extra)

1 tablespoon castor sugar (extra)

Grease a 20cm round cake tin. Heat oven at moderate temperature.

Mix butter, sugar and vanilla essence together until light and creamy. Sift in flour and add milk add milk and combine together. Pour into greased tin. Bake for approx. 25 minutes or until golden on top. Leave to cool for 5 -10 minutes.

Put cinnamon, extra butter and castor sugar into small bowl and put in microwave until butter has melted. Brush over top of cake.

Eat within 2-3 days.

Whats happening...

I got a new Fiorelli clutch/handbag the other day and I still havent used it but I do like it I just can't think what to match it with perhaps jeans?

I also made a Preppy Semester Planner for Uni next year I may be a little ahead of myself but I had the card and thought it was a good idea took me all in all about three hours but so worth it!

Hmm...what else oh I made cupcakes today and piped butter icing! Check them out. I never reaslised how long takes to pipe butter icing. I also saw these Chocolate Halloween Cupcakes I think I may attempt them next week.

I saw this adorable Lilly Pulizer hoody on In the Pink last night....oh to live in America!

Preppy Website

Recently I have been reading alot about Preppy ideas and looking for Decorating Ideas as I am hopefully off to University in either November or Feb. I have liked Preppy clothes for a while now and I was looking up some websites and found this nice article on Being Preppy and this was my favourite part of it:

Just Jeans

Hello.

Well it turns out I may be moving up to Wellington till Feb 2007 to do a course at the Uni over the Summer Trimester! I know short notice and all leave in Nov if I do go! Scary stuff anyway not 100% sure yet but fingers crossed!

So I have applied to Halls of Residence and we shall see but I am in panic mode as I would have to fly up there as it is to far to drive which means I would have only 20kg of luggage available to me!!!! Shock Shock Horror Horror! So I am trying to work out what I could and could not take with me.

Anyway did some Just Jeans window shopping the other day and saw some VERY cute things I will definatly be going back for the white ballet flats and the blue and gold kaftan top and perhaps the floral cami!

Lilly Lovers

I feel like I have fallen behind on my blogging (and we all know Amy has!) So this is my first attempt and getting back into it! The blog has changed a bit over the last week or so new colours and a new Links page! If your blog is not on this page and you think it should be e-mail me and let me know! I noticed while looking through old posts that we haven't had a Lilly Lovers Update recently so I thought I would share a few of my recent favourite Lilly Pulitzer items!

Birthday!

Well it was my birthday on Saturday and I got given mostly money so that suited me and I bought lots of fun things. I also got back from visiting Amy up in Canterbury, on Thursday evening. We had a great time and spend Tuesday catching up and then Wednesday shopping in Christchurch and then we and a friend of mine went out for dinner at a very cheesy place which was great fun and very yummie! Thursday I did some more shopping! I am not a big fan of flying but the plane trip back was lovely, great views of the mountains and lakes.

So I did some shopping yesterday and got some more tops from Just Jeans and I got a really nice WW Cupcake book and lots of other things.

I also rented Over the Hedge out the other day and watched it - little kid style!

Oh I also sent my application off to University (fingers crossed) and I have decided to buy a laptop with the money Dad sent so thats exciting.

Also since it was my birthday the other day a few days back I was digging out old pictures of me and the family to have a laugh and I found this one....my first pink polo shirt!
